Mark your calendars! The Grand Passage Youth Fishing Day is set for Saturday, May 17, 2025, near North Bend, NE. This annual event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to experience the thrill of fishing while enjoying a fun-filled day outdoors with family and friends.
🐟 What to Expect:
✅ Free Tackle & Fishing Pole – Every participating child will receive a fishing pole and tackle to take home!
✅ Boat Fishing Experience – Kids will have the chance to fish from a boat, making for an exciting adventure on the water.
✅ Lunch Provided – A delicious meal will be available for all attendees.
✅ Youth Lifetime Hunt/Fish Permit Drawing – The Grand Passage Sportsmen will host a special drawing, giving one lucky youth the incredible gift of a Lifetime Hunt/Fish Permit!
This event is completely free and open to all youth who want to learn about fishing or improve their skills. It’s a perfect day for the entire family to enjoy Nebraska’s great outdoors!

The 2024 Grand Passage annual Youth Fishing Day was held on May 18, 2024 near North Bend, NE. Over 80 kids participated and all kids received free tackle and fishing pole while each had the opportunity to fish from a boat. Lunch was provided for everyone. The Grand Passage Sportsmen held a drawing for a Youth Lifetime Hunt/Fish Permit!
The 2023 Grand Passage annual Youth Fishing Day was held on May 20, 2023 near North Bend, NE. Over 60 kids participated and all kids received free tackle and fishing pole while each had the opportunity to fish from a boat. Lunch was provided for everyone. The Grand Passage Sportsmen held a drawing for 1 Youth Lifetime Hunt/Fish Permit!
The 2022 Grand Passage annual Youth Fishing Day was held on May 21, 2022 near North Bend, NE. Over 40 kids participated and all kids received free tackle and fishing pole while each had the opportunity to fish from a boat. Lunch was provided for everyone. The Grand Passage Sportsmen held a drawing for 1 Youth Lifetime Hunt/Fish Permit, and congratulations to Carsyn Miller from Lyons, NE on winning!

Past Events
The Grand Passage held its inaugural Youth Fishing Day on May 24, 2021. Great weather provided fun and enjoyment for all 30+ participating youth that showed up to have the opportunity to fish a nice sandpit outside of North Bend, NE.
Eight area anglers donated their boats and experience to take turns giving groups of kids rides and fishing enjoyment. All participating kids received a new fishing reel, rod, tackle box and gear to take home. The morning was wrapped up with a hot dog roast on the banks of the lake.
Thank you to all the great donations we received to support this day! We look forward to offering this opportunity again in the spring of 2022.
