The Grand Passage Sportsmen will be hosting a FREE instructional youth waterfowl hunting day. This will be a fun and informative outing focused on teaching young hunters’ valuable techniques to enhance their hunting experiences. Kids will have the opportunity to learn how to set up and position different kinds of blinds including ground layout, A-frame, and pit blind options. Setting up proper decoy spreads can make or break your chances of getting good shots, and we will walk through a variation of field scenarios to account for changing weather and seasonal conditions to maximize your hunting success. In addition, there will be a session on calling where youth will receive tips to learn how to effectively call both ducks and geese. Throughout the day, safety will be a top priority, and this will be part of all training. There will be a free lunch and take-home bag for all participants.
